Our Panel of Experts

Taking inspiration from their children and their passions, our community of experts helps to design and test all of our earth-friendly projects. They include creative parents, grandparents, and specialists in education, developmental psychology, sustainability, art, and science to ensure Green Kid Crafts is delivering developmentally appropriate and inspiring activities while staying true to environmentally-friendly practices.

Harmony Roll holds a B.A. in Art History and a M.Ed. in Curriculum and Instruction. A certified K-8 teacher, with “Highly Qualified” status and an additional endorsement in art, she has taught every grade in the elementary spectrum and at the middle school level. Place-based and multi-age education are her areas of expertise and the source of her passion as a teacher and a parent. Harmony is the founder of Taiga Trekkers, a free hiking group for parents and kids. The success of that group led her to found the Anchorage Outdoor Family Network, which serves hundreds of local families. She is also currently working on creating the education consulting firm, Taiga Teacher. A mother to two young sons, they enjoy spending their days outside—no matter what time of year, doing crafts, science experiments, hockey, reading and lots of free play.

Lisa Capuozzo holds a B.A. in Family Studies and a M.S. in Recreation and Sport Sciences from Ohio University. A mom of two, she is also a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist. In her life before children she worked in a variety of settings serving children with mental health and developmental challenges. She and her husband have enjoyed traveling and have lived in Ohio, Oregon, Arizona, and Alaska. Favorite activities in her house include creating art from found objects, singing and playing "music class," dressing up and having performances, cooking and baking, playing outside, and story time.
Lizzy Donovan holds a B.A. in Women's Studies and Sociology from the University of Colorado and a M.A. in Counseling from Regis University. Lizzy currently works at the Student Health and Counseling Center at the University of Alaska. She has worked extensively in the past with youth involved in a variety of systems including juvenile justice and foster care. Lizzy's favorite job is playing Mommy to her 3.5 year old daughter. She spends much of her day learning new ballet moves, wearing fairy wings, or practicing her (very poor) British accent while pouring tea. As a self-proclaimed craft klutz, Lizzy is particularly equipped to evaluate the user friendliness of craft projects and is thrilled to partner with Green Kid Crafts to put her clumsiness to good use.
Jennifer Adams, CPC-AAPC, RMA-AMT, CCP-BAMC, holds a B.A. in Business and a M.A. in Biblical Counseling. She has worked with many families in her community and beyond for the past decade teaching, crafting, and building a foundation for wellness in spirit, soul, and body. She is also an author of a new children's book called, "My Sister Chocolate, My Sister Vanilla." As well, she is part of a duo musical group, "Annagail," with her handsome husband Jared, signed with All Entertainment record label out of Nashville, TN. She has two beautiful little girls, a biological daughter and an adopted daughter from Haiti. Favorite activities include crafting with fabric, puppet shows, musical dramas, scavenger hunts, and story-telling.
Amanda is an eco-friendly, garden loving, quilting mom who LOVES being with her two children and teaching them about the world. She has a B.A. in Elementary Education, an M.A. in Reading Education K-12, her National Board Teaching Certification, and 5 years of classroom teaching experience. Her children, ages 2 1/2 and almost 6, enjoy spending time outside in the garden and are avid crafters. Her daughter enjoys designing and sewing her own doll clothes and would happily spend her entire days crafting. Amanda blogs with her best friend about parenting with purpose at The Educators' Spin On It.

Jennifer Pack holds a B.A. in Studio Art from Wesleyan College in Macon, Georgia. She is the graphic designer and photographer behind Black Cat Studios Design and Photography and is mom to a 5 year old son and a 1 year old daughter. She is a crafting junky (anyone whose seen her craft cave can attest to that). She loves to create and shares her passion for creativity with her children whenever she can. Her son loves baking in the kitchen, drawing pictures and music. Her daughter gets into everything, loves to climb, and is learning how to not eat markers. Other favorite pastimes include taking lots of photos, traveling and exploring new places (she's lived in Georgia, Japan, Ohio and now Alaska).
Melissa Jordan is an Art Educator with 15+ years teaching students from kindergarten through 12th grade. She holds a BA in Art Education and Studio Art and Secondary Education Minor. She is currently a SAHM with plans to teach HS Art in the Fall of 2012. Melissa shares her creative endeavors with her 5 year old daughter on her blog The Chocolate Muffin Tree. She has a true love for making things and for growing creative children. Her purpose in her own words, "I am here to make things and to share my love of this with others."
