Baked apple chips! Delicious and easy, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how well these turn out.  In just 4 easy steps, make a satisfying, healthful, portable snack.

Step 1: Buy apples. Any kind will do. We used Honeycrisp – they make the best baked apple chips we’ve found due to their size and sweetness.

Step 2: Slice and dice. A mandolin would have made this extra easy, but we only had a mostly sharp knife. Slice them at about 1/16th inches.

Step 3: Flavorings! We brushed ours with vanilla extract and sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. The vanilla gave a slightly caramel flavor.

Step 3: Bake at 200 degrees for 90 minutes on a parchment lined cookie sheet, flip, 90 more minutes on the other side. Then let them sit overnight in your oven. The next morning you’ll have delicious, portable, crunchy baked apple chips!
