Kid-Friendly Recipe: Baked Apple Chips
Delicious and easy, you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how well these turn out. In just 4 easy steps, make a satisfying, healthful, portable snack.
Step 1: Buy apples. Any kind will do. We used Honeycrisp – they make the best-baked apple chips we’ve found due to their size and sweetness.
Step 2: Slice and dice. A mandolin would have made this extra easy, but we only had a mostly sharp knife. Slice them at about 1/16th inches.
Step 3: Flavorings! We brushed ours with vanilla extract and sprinkled it with cinnamon sugar. The vanilla gave a slight caramel flavor.
Step 3: Bake at 200 degrees for 90 minutes on a parchment-lined cookie sheet, flip, 90 more minutes on the other side. Then let them sit overnight in your oven. The next morning you’ll have delicious, portable, crunchy baked apple chips!
