What's Special About Green Kid Crafts?

Found by a Mom With a Mission
Penny Bauder wanted to spend time on creative and meaningful activities with her kids – but so many crafts seemed so wasteful and time-consuming to organize.

Boxed & Kitted With Love in San Diego, California
Each Green Kid Crafts box contains 4-6 activities and are carefully kitted by hand by our warehouse team in Sunny San Diego

Sustainable by Design
Green Kid Crafts is a green and sustainable business, drawing from Penny’s experiences as an environmental scientist, pictured here researching in the Tongass National Forest in Alaska.

I loved the diversity of the crafts – we immediately made the little lamp, and the following day made the shadow sticks. We’ve yet to make the rest but can’t wait to incorporate these into our home school activities!
Rowena –
Great theme. Interesting, educational. Each craft was easy enough for a kid to do and fun and engaging, thoroughly supplied (a really nice quality), and substantial (not too simple or flimsy or uninteresting). The bonus craft was a fun surprise.

Loved everything in this box! I loved mostly that it was a fun and exciting way to teach my 4-year-old about nocturnal animals! I even learned some stuff, too. 🙂

My daughter loved being able to look at the.pictures and understand what to do even though she cant read yet.

It would be nice if you would offer a sibling box. It could come packaged in the same box, but with extra stuff for a sibling. We have leftover supplies sometimes (like the glow in the dark glue) and it would be nice to have a few extra supplies to make 2.

I loved the owl! My daughter loves it, too. She sleeps with it every night. The lantern is on her nightstand.

this is one of the best boxes yet… it involved activity but also a question/answer… we were looking for what would happen based on what we did.

I liked that the crafts incorporated everyday items like socks & paper towels with unusual items like glow in the dark paint & tea lights

There is obviously so much thought and care that go into each of your boxes. My kids learn so much about the monthly theme, whether it is music, ocean, or space. I also really like that each kit is sef-contained so we can just pick one up when we need some distraction and everything is included for an awesome project

I get these Discovery Boxes for all my grandchildren. I like to buy gifts from companies I respect and thier customer service is excellent. I love to hear about how much my grandkids enjoy these craft boxes.

I liked the glow in the dark paint:) I did not even know it existed and my son loved it.

This was one of my kids favorite boxes so far, the first thing they immediately wanted to do was the lantern project because it reminded my 4 year old of Rapunzel and her glowing lanterns. My 4 and 2 year old worked together on that project and it came out great. The shadow puppets were a lot of fun and they got a kick out of the light show and now we keep them in their nightstands so we can play with them occasionally. The owl came out really cute, but was a little advanced for my girls so I got the basic shape made and cut the wings and nose and let them decorate it. Lots of great projects in this kit!

My kids loved the theme and the glow in the dark paint. I’m not giving this box a five-star rating because the glow sticks didn’t work and I wish the owl stuffing would have been something different than paper towels. That said, the company did mail me extra glow sticks, which I really appreciated, I just wish that they would have worked from the beginning.

Most crafting fun ends when the crafting is over- not this box. My 4-year-old loved making everything, and then we’ve enjoyed hours of fun afterward. We even made some of the “extra ideas” like the firefly jar with the leftover glow paint. Highly recommend this one!
Halloween Nocturnal Animals –
My daughter loved making the owl. She was a little disappointed that she got a light blue sock and lime green wings to make it with, though. (I realize it states that colors vary in the description; however, she would have preferred Halloween colors.) The lantern activity is super cute, but we are going to swap out the orange LED light that came with it, because it distorts the colors of the tissue paper so that it all just looks like a different shade of orange, instead of appearing like stained glass colors. Overall, the activities are all neat.
