DIY Science Tool Kit Box Project
Did you know that everyday objects can become science tools? A great way to reuse your Green Kid Crafts box after the projects inside are complete is to make a science kit. You can keep everything you need for your next scientific experiment in one place!
What you put in your box isn’t as important as using your brains and imagination to think about how different objects found around the house can be used for scientific purposes. Here are some examples of what you can put in your own science tool kit:
- Cup or jar
- Straws
- Spoons
- String or yarn
- Scissors
- Magnifying glass
- Paper
- Pencil
- Leftover science experiment supplies
Science Kit Tools
Start searching for science tools around the house to fill up your box. Have a grown-up help you go through drawers and closets to find tools. Art supplies make great science tools too.
What can you do with the objects in your science tool kit? Use your imagination! With a few additional supplies a cup and string can be a great base for making your own crystals or rock candy. Study insects, rocks and leaves with the magnifying glass. Use your pencil and paper to record your findings!

What is a Green Company?
We believe that a green company is one that not only strives for sustainability but takes a step beyond to try and create positive change. As a company founded by an environmental scientist, it’s only natural that Green Kid Crafts is committed to ensuring that all of our activities, from product to process, have as little an impact on the environment as possible. Further, we view our work as a way to foster the next generation of environmental stewards by engaging kids with nature in positive, creative ways.
