We’re always looking for great ways to upcycle used food containers into fun craft activities. Now that winter is on its way we’re ready for some snow-themed crafts. Make this cute snowflake craft for kids as the air gets colder. It’s a great project to show kids from ages toddler and up how things we usually see as trash can be made into something beautiful! Encourage your kids to think of other materials from around the house that can be upcycled into cool winter art projects.
Snowflake Craft for Kids
Supplies:
- Egg Carton Cups
- Light Blue Paint
- Silver Glitter
Activity:
- Cut out each egg cup individually and cut three slits down the sides evenly spaced around the cup. I cut halfway down and then let my kids squish the cups flat. This made each snowflake unique just like real-life snowflakes!
- Have your child paint the egg cup light blue
- Sprinkle with silver glitter and let dry.
We glued our egg cup snowflakes to a piece of paper to hang on the refrigerator. Another fun option is to make the snowflakes into a mobile by hanging them from a small branch with string.
