Science for Kids: Simple Robot Activity
Today we’re building a simple robot using recycled materials. This “toothbot” will be a noisy toy to watch and play with once constructed. So look around the house and grab some old toothbrushes and bottle caps to make this DIY robot!
Supplies
- Aluminum foil
- Soda bottle caps
- Marker
- Tape
- 2 electric toothbrushes
Directions for making a Simple Robot
- Tape your two toothbrushes together facing the same way
- Cover with foil tightly
- Roll up the tape and stick the caps on the underside of the toothbrushes
- Draw eyes on two caps and place them on the flush back of the toothbrushes
- Turn on the toothbrushes and place the bot on a flat hard surface to watch it spin, move and make clacking sounds.
